OMHA 50th Anniversary Celebration

Join the Oliver Miller Homestead Associates on Sunday, September 21st, as they celebrate 50 years of researching, teaching, and living the history of our forefathers. In 1932, in the midst of George Washington’s 200th birthday, local women’s organizations refurbished and decorated the quaint stone house in Allegheny County’s then-new South Park. It sat relatively underutilized until the bicentennial was upon us in the 1970s. A renewed patriotic fervor was the impetus to incorporate the Oliver Miller Homestead Associates, a 501c3 organization dedicated to telling the story of the Millers, a quintessential frontier family whose story spans centuries of local history. On this day, we will pay homage to our founders, our supporters, and most importantly, the volunteers who make it happen week after week.

There is no cost for this event, but donations are very much appreciated! We will have raffle baskets, souvenirs, and of course our gift shop open for memorabilia and hand-made crafts. The gates are open from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM, last admittance at 4:00 PM.
